I edit theses, dissertations, research proposals, journal manuscripts, course papers, reports, and other academic writing in education and the social sciences. I work with both graduate students and researchers who have completed their degrees. If you're unsure whether your project is a good fit, feel free to reach out.

I focus on clarity, organization, flow, sentence structure, grammar, and readability while preserving your voice and ideas. The level of editing will depend on your project and the service you select.
-
In most cases, yes. Universities generally allow copy editing that improves clarity, grammar, sentence structure, and readability while preserving the author's ideas and intellectual contribution. However, policies vary across institutions, so I encourage you to review your university's guidelines if you're unsure.
-
Absolutely. Consultations can be useful at any stage of the writing process, whether you're developing an idea, working through supervisor feedback, restructuring a chapter, or trying to move past a section you're stuck on.

Turnaround time depends on the length of your document and my current availability. Most shorter documents can be completed within one to two weeks, while longer projects such as thesis or dissertation chapters may require additional time. If you have a specific deadline, please let me know when you submit your request, and I'll do my best to accommodate your timeline.
Expedited turnaround (3–5 business days) may be available for an additional fee.
-
Editing is priced per word, so the total cost depends on the length of your document and the level of editing required. Before any work begins, you'll receive a personalized quote outlining the scope, timeline, and total cost.
-
I know that graduate school can be financially demanding. While I aim to keep my pricing fair and transparent, I also reserve a limited number of reduced-cost writing consultations and Community Writing Session spaces each month for students who may benefit from additional support. If cost is a barrier, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm happy to discuss options whenever possible.
